DriveIQ · driving behaviour
AvailableFair driving scores, judged against the road's own limit
DriveIQ turns harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, speeding against the posted limit of the road and idling into penalty points and a score out of 100 per driver and per vehicle. It works with the trackers you already have, beside SyncVelo Fleet's overspeed, idling and driving-time alerts.

AvailableSpeed judged against the road, not against a guess
A single fleet-wide limit is either too strict on the motorway or too lenient past a school. SyncVelo judges each position against the posted limit of the road it is on, from open map data built into a road index on our own servers.
- The posted limit for cars, heavy goods vehicles and buses, where the road has one
- Roads signed closed to heavy vehicles, buses or motorcycles
- Legal top speeds by vehicle class from your country's rule pack, each with its source
- Driving time and breaks, with alerts by email, SMS, WhatsApp or push
Driving behaviour
AvailableA score you can explain, event by event
Every harsh event, speeding episode and long idle carries penalty points, weighed by its severity. Points per 100 km driven become a score out of 100 for each driver and vehicle; with too little driving there is no score. The latest events show the vehicle, the driver and the detail behind each one.
- Harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, from the tracker's alarms or its positions
- Speeding against the road's posted limit: mild, moderate or severe
- Idling: the engine on while standing, for longer than the time you set
- Scores per day, the trend against the period before, and rankings
Speeding against the posted limit needs the road data installed on the server, which SyncVelo's deploy kit does. Drivers come from driver assignment: RFID or iButton keys, or set by hand.

How the score worksAvailable
From a position to a score you can trust
Each step is visible, so a score can always be traced back to the trips and events behind it.
- 1PositionsSpeed, heading and time from every tracker, with its own harsh-driving alarms where it sends them.
- 2EventsHarsh acceleration, braking and cornering, speeding and idling are detected.
- 3Penalty pointsEach event is weighed by its severity and the vehicle class.
- 4ScorePoints per 100 km driven become a score out of 100 per driver and vehicle.
- 5TrendsScores per day, the trend against the period before, and rankings.
Fair by design
The rules the score follows
Per vehicle class
Forces differ for cars and vans, trucks, buses and motorcycles, and your organization sets them.
The road's own limit
Speeding is measured against the posted limit Fleet's rules already use.
No new hardware
Scores come from the trackers you already have: their own alarms, or their positions every second or two.
Verified before release
Scores were verified on the platform before they were marked Available.

Frequently asked questions
Can I score drivers today?
Yes. DriveIQ scores each driver and vehicle out of 100 from harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, speeding against each road's posted limit and idling, with trends and rankings. It is the Driving page in SyncVelo Fleet, and Drive AI's console opens on it too.
Do I need new hardware?
No. Harsh events come from the tracker's own accelerometer alarms, which many tracker models report, or are worked out from positions when the tracker reports every second or two.
Are heavy trucks judged like cars?
No. Your organization sets the forces per vehicle class (cars and vans, trucks, buses and motorcycles), and 1.5 times the force counts as severe. Posted limits also differ for heavy goods vehicles and buses where the road says so.
Where do posted limits come from?
From open map data, built into a road index on our own servers, so nothing about your vehicles is looked up elsewhere. A road without a posted limit is not judged by that rule; your country pack's legal top speeds can still apply.
Do I need a dash cam?
Not for DriveIQ. Dash cams and the camera's ADAS and driver-monitoring alarms belong to Drive AI, which is on the roadmap.
Can I be alerted when a score drops?
Not yet. Scores are on the Driving page and in the scheduled Driving behaviour report (CSV, XLSX or PDF); alerts on a score threshold do not exist today. Overspeed, idling and the tracker's own harsh-driving alarms can already alert you.
